Stabilus gas springs and hydraulic dampers have become an essential element in vehicle design, as they guarantee safe and easy mobility, precise motion sequences, and effective vibration damping.
Stabilus has an extremely wide range of different types of gas springs that differ in terms of external dimensions, speed characteristics, and extension variants. Thanks to this variety of products, the company is able to provide solutions for every application.
Stabilus gas springs LIFT-O-MAT are hydro-pneumatic adjustment elements that are used whenever loads need to be lifted, lowered, moved, and adjusted in a controlled manner.
With an exactly calibrated extension force and damping specifically defined for the application, the LIFT-O-MAT gas spring allows optimal weight compensation, acts as a force support, lifts loads, opens doors and hoods, and, thanks to its damping characteristics, allows for easy execution of movements.
LIFT-O-MAT gas springs are also very easy to install and have compact dimensions, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
The BLOC-O-LIFT gas springs function fundamentally according to the same principle as the LIFT-O-MAT gas springs. In addition , BLOC-O-LIFT gas springs can be clamped continuously and, depending on their construction , elastically or rigidly in the direction of tension or compression.
Continuous clamping is made possible by the additional valve integrated in the piston , which keeps the two pressure chambers gas-tight. Closing the valve interrupts the gas exchange between the two chambers and the BLOC-O-LIFT gas spring is locked.
The valve closes automatically as soon as the valve button is released from the outside. Elastic locking can be conveniently used, for example, to absorb shocks, impacts, or peak impulse loads comfortably (e.g. office chairs and swivel chairs).
HYDRAULIC VIBRATION DAMPING
Shock absorbers are essential for positively influencing the movement and vibration characteristics. They are custom-designed based on each specific application.
Hydraulic shock absorbers consist of a pressure tube, a rod with a piston system, and mounting components.
When movement occurs, the filling medium—oil—is compressed through appropriately sized orifices within the piston, generating the desired damping force.
